I think in the 1990s she would have won a worldwide "most beautiful woman" poll. She's like a blue ribbon afghan hound; too regal and perfect to be loveable, but there's always room for perfection. She avoided vanilla stardom by going the Jennifer Jason Leigh route, selecting traumatic roles. Nice to see a craftsman's interest in range and variety over mere celebrity.
