Seven Doors To Death (The Beyond) (DVD)    1981
DVD / All Regions
 DVD $3.48 SALE $1.74
Another mysterious item in the Diamond Entertainment catalogue that should have evaporated when the Anchor Bay release of The Beyond came out. But the price is right, and the movie is quite good. Considered by some buffs to be Fulci's most effective 1980s horror film. A creepy old hotel in Louisiana happens to be sitting atop the gates of hell. Lots of gore and zombies. The opening scene is a crucifixion, so it hits the gound running. The stuff with the blind girl is very effective. Starring Catriona MacColl and David Warbeck. Region 1 disc.

House By The Cemetery (DVD)    1981
DVD / All Regions
 DVD $3.48 SALE $1.74
Catriona (Katherine) MacColl and Paolo Malco play a New York Couple who move to a haunted house in Boston with their young son who is warned by the ghost of a little girl to stay away. They don't, of course, and suffer the formulaic consequences. Lots of the expected Fulci gore effects. We have no idea why Diamond Entertainment still has DVDs of this film and 7 Doors of Death (The Beyond), but they do. According to a review we read, this is the uncut, unrated version of the film despite the R rating on the back of the box. The Diamond discs are not nearly as nice as the Anchor Bay releases, but they are surprisingly good for the price.
